Early last year, the team at Woodstock General & Implant Dentistry held our first You 2.0 Ultimate Makeover Contest. This contest was open to residents of the local community who were in desperate need of dental work. Dr. Claudia Patch chose Anastacia Franklin as the winner after listening to her compelling story. Dr. Patch decided to hold this contest because she has a passion for giving back to her community. Your oral health affects almost every aspect of your overall wellness and Dr. Patch was happy to provide a life-changing experience to a deserving member of our community. Anastacia’s Story
As we were interviewing her, there were tears in her eyes. Anastacia Franklin, age 31, grew up in a home environment where proper dental care was never taught to her. As a child, Anastacia spent 5 years in foster care while her mother battled drug addiction. While her caregivers did their best for her health, she rarely saw a dentist and her teeth suffered. As Anastacia grew up, she became more and more aware of how the poor state of her teeth affected every part of her life. Not only did it affect her self-confidence, it stopped her from seeking higher education and the career she always wanted. Her dental problems were significant. Despite her efforts in the past 10 years, the cost was too much for Anastacia to address her dental problems. In her sincere essay, she explained how important winning this contest was for her. A makeover could help her move forward with her life. We were so happy to make Anastacia’s dreams become a reality.
How Woodstock General & Implant Dentistry Fixed Anastacia’s Smile
Anastacia already had a pre-existing bridge, several implants, crowns, filling work, and some shaping of her teeth. We removed a few teeth, grafted the area, and put bone material in to regrow bone. This created a good foundation for dental implants. Over 90-95% of implants last 20 years or more. Implants also function like natural teeth, so this was an ideal choice for Anastacia.

Anastacia’s Results!
On the day of her reveal, Anastacia never looked so excited, vibrant and confident! She told us that the day before her reveal photoshoot, she enrolled in school to pursue her dream career along with a CrossFit class so she can start on her weight-loss journey. Anastacia said that this gift has encouraged her to achieve her goals and give her the confidence to put herself out there. Additionally, Anastacia plans to become a foster parent herself someday. Anastacia wants to help children learn what she was never taught. She plans to ensure their access to the regular dental care that children need.
We’ve never seen Anastacia so bright and radiating with happiness and confidence. We are so humbled to have supported her throughout this journey and help make her dreams a reality.

Dr. Claudia Patch’s goal is to change the general public’s opinion about dentistry and help people overcome their fear of dentistry. We try to make our patients feel as comfortable as possible – so when they come in, they feel like family. Our personal connection with our patients is what makes this such a rewarding field to work in. Dr. Patch’s lifelong dream has always been to be a dentist and she is making a difference through dentistry in the Hudson Valley. After the success of the You 2.0 Ultimate Smile Makeover Contest, we plan to offer it to our community again in the future.
